2006 "Fan Guide" supplement to National DRAGSTER, came with the Feb 3, 2006 weekly edition. I normally just skim over it quickly before tossing it in the recycle bin.
For whatever reason, I read through it more this time (throne time, you know), and low & behold, in their section explaining the different NHRA classes in the back, page 90, beside the "E.T. Brackets" segment is a picture of my 2nd round at the Finals in Pomona, Nov 2004.
Of course, the caption didn't include my name. It started off with: "Virtually any vehicle - from a dragster to a muscle car to a daily street driver or motorcycle - can compete in the most popular form of drag racing competition, E.T. bracket races . . ."
I guess I represent the "virtually" part - From Merriam-Webster's 11th Collegiate Dictionary:
vir-tu-al-ly
adverb
1: almost entirely : NEARLY
2: for all practical purposes <virtually unknown>
;)
(My copy had a finishing error on that page - dog-eared and not fully trimmed - Think there's any significance to that?)
