Ok sometime this week i will be getting my car back with new motor combo.
My Question is wil my car run ok till i can get the pcm tuned?I put a cc305 camwith new valve springs to match and BBk headers on it while it was getting new engine.I already have a ram air hood and I cutout the Cat in my exhaust(cheap offroad exhaust) going to a flowmaster muffler with stock tips. How bad will the stock tune run?:dontknow:

I would spend the money and get it tuned as soon as you can, it's going to run like poo until then. Idle surging, poor gas mileage, it will die and be tought to start back, probably no permanant damage, but I wouldn't run my car around like that.

I should be getting it back tomorrow or Tuesday so we will see then i guess...I hope it runs more like Mike2244 says rather than qwkws6's bad outlook on things

Not a bad outlook, that's just how mine ran before I got it tuned. I hope it runs the best in the world for you, but mine didn't. good luck man!

Maybe get it today not sure since these people been saying that for a week now...I am wishing i had gone to different shop .Since car got dropped off to shop the price of project has gone up to twice what i had planned on spending and taken twice as long as they had promised..really bad service to say the least...But maybe today i will get my car back we will see.
Final build was as follows:
stock block bored 30 over
forged pistons
trickflow heads
BBK 1 5/8 midlength headers
comp cams springs,lifters,1.6 roller rockers
cc 305 cam
msd coil
switched to 95 venti opti
lt4 timing set
lt4 knock module
Stock tune(hoping it will run to get to the tuner)
not sure how this combo should run once the tune is done but plan on adding nitrous or supercharger later so opted for the trickflow heads to lower compression slightly
will be getting dyno tuned will post numbers soon hopefully

I had my PCM tuned about 1 month after I bought my ride. I have a SLP CAI, thats it.
Most people get custom tunes to afix aftermarket parts ( your scenario ).
I got mine because I didnt like it redlining ( around 6000 RPM if i remember correctly) when I topped it out. ( or floored it, for that matter ). I didnt change it much, just better shift points, ( stayin in hp curve is vital ) a little bit more fuel/ratio, and some other small details, but I was mainly concerned about the shift points. ( there wasnt much I could do, my ride is pretty much stock )
You can send it in, or go to a speed shop ( I recommed that . just have your facts and specs with you.
sending in your PCM isnt a bad idea either...
A cam is what will throw off your overall timing. The others are just bolt ons, and really wont affect it as much. With a tune, you'll really be able to exercise those parts to thier fullest extent.:D
Im might get tuned again, because im lookin at gettin headers, Y pipe and a catback. I might not , not sure yet.. We'll see how it goes..
I highly recommend a tune, you wont regret it.
My Z felt alot better, and It gets you more hp, mpg, and wakes up your bolts ons too some.
Hope this helps, best of Luck!

Yeah finally got it back, it for sure needs a tune. It runs better than I thought it would.Sometimes idles up and down a bit but loves rpm's or atleast compared to stock motor. :)Should have got bigger injectors also.
As far as shift points mines a m6 but I am going to have the redline moved up a bit to 6500 and remove speedlimiter can't even put it on dyno till I do that

Glad to hear you finally got it, that's why I hate taking my junk anywhere, even if I wasn't going to be driving it, I still want it here, where I at least know where it's at and that it's safe.
