I will be getting my 383 soon and wanted to look at the trans now. I need some references on shops to build a 4L60E. Jag, Flt, PATC are ones I have heard of but which shops have you guys had good luck with? I have also looked at torque converters from PI,Yank and Edge. Any info there would also be a help.
Thanks:thumbsup:

I have a probuilt 700r4 (early style non electronic controlled 4l60e) w/ a 3400 Edge converter and love the setup. Dana from Pro-Built was awesome to deal w/.
I love to see you go w/ our sponsor Rock-On... but if you tried and that didn't work give Probuilt a call and see what you think.

Has anyone delt with Art Carr? They have a great sale on a 4L60E/700R4 extreme duty trans they say is rated for 700 +HP. I know they have been around for awhile but I have never delt with them personally. I dont want to post the sale price and break any rules here but it is far better than I have been getting.

Talk to a good reputable 700R4/4L60E builder and they will tell you to stay away from Art Carr (new or the old Art Carr), as his units (upon teardown) are substandard at best. Anybody can make claims (700 or 800HP), but once their unit is torn down and found to be deficent as to their claim of putting in "good" HD updated parts, to make it hold up to those claims. You find that you have paid for a "very expensive" sticker on the side of the unit, and little else in "most" cases. I am speaking from experience, as I have torn down dozens of AC units over the years. As I said earlier, talk to a good reputable 700R4/4L60E builder and they will tell you about what I say.
