1970judge had a great idea in the LT1 forum and I'd like to bring it over here. Here's the rules:
1) Must be an N/A pull
2) Must provide scan of dynosheet
3) Videos of the pull are suggested, but not mandatory
4) As far as dyno tricks go, keep this in mind as ya'll go about this: would your mother be proud of what you're doing?

We'll set a deadline at a later date :D

can we make 2 differant #1's....

one for hp
one for TQ? :D

not fair to auto guys if we only do hp....

How about I come up with some sort of weighting scheme so both are taken into account (no fair on torque with ya'll auto's and your stall flashes, hahaha)? Sound fair?

could convert numbers to flywheel

how about an auto catergory and one for manuals

I like the flywheel numbers idea. Plus, my dyno is a Mustang Dyno so my numbers will be lower than some right off the bat. Even though I did put down 428 on that thing with a mid sized cam. New cam should produce some interesting numbers.

The problem with the flywheel converting is that some of us have heavier drivetrains. Just how much would we use for each? It's kind of a fuzzy area on that one.

Now there are mustang -> dynojet calcs that are widely accepted, those'd be fine.

Let's do an auto and a manual category, except Gettinthere. I want your old numbers from before in the manual and your new ones in the auto. Hell, I need some sort of competition in here

Well I was at 428 on a Mustang Dyno (~460 dyno jet...assuming 7% loss) thru the 6 speed. I'll have A4 numbers in a couple of weeks.

You know the rules. Dynosheets only.

Damn cheater.

What kind of deadline do ya'll want to set?

I need at least a week or two cause I still haven't put my new cam in, lol

I'd say end of March. This way people can get thier cars out of hibernation and I can get my new cam in.

And I'll post either the dyno sheet or a video of the pull and walk the camera up to the screen.

My Dyno #'s are almost (3) years old, and outdated since the other bolton mods. Still count?

gettinthere

If you want to use them, sure.

CamTom12

Go nuts, bro.

Probably will increase your chances of winning if you update your numbers... :)

June 1 sounds good by me, so June 1 it is!

i know im not gonna be winning this one, but just for clarification, are there going to be 2 catergorys, or just flywheel numbers

gettinthere
02-16-2006, 08:21 PM
Hmm, good call.

We could either:
Have a category for sticks and one for autos
or
Calculate flywheel numbers

And we'll have to convert mustang dyno numbers to dyno jet numbers. (multiply by 1.07)

CamTom12
02-17-2006, 12:01 AM
Sticks and autos. There's too much grey area in calculating driveline loss. Nothing that's really been proven to work 60% of the time it works every time, anyway.

2 it is then.

I'll be posting up 400 hp (428 hp dynojet) cam-only through my 9" in a few weeks after I get my injectors and racetronix pump.

Off topic: B, what can you get me some green top 42#ers for? I can get them new for $250 shipped on the other board.

CamTom12
02-17-2006, 09:41 PM
Good question. If I can ever find my damn keys to fire up my new cam I'll be needing new injectors as well...

I'll have a price for you Monday morning. I'm getting the same ones for myself so I'll just get prices on 2 sets.

So will there be a prize for the lowest LS1 dyno numbers? I bet I can win that catagory. (cough, cough 246rwhp cough, cough) :lol

How's everyone feel about extending this thing a month or so?

Personally I've been busy as hell lately and haven't been able to find/make it to a dyno in my area. I'm seriously about this close to driving to Nashville for a damn dyno (plus so I can tune some cars, lol)

gettinthere

We could make it Septemer 1st.

Firehawk 526
06-19-2006, 10:44 PM
If I can scan my SLP Dyno #'s, then no problem, but a digital camera just isn't cuttin' it!

Surely, most everyone can beat an N/A 334/353 (rear wheel hp/tq)

hmm, still don't think im gonna top the list but how much did you say a tune was? unless i win the lotto, i'm probably not getting a cam this summer

i'd like to get some higher numbers tho, that and i have a werid feeling the car is running rich
