I bought a 95 lt1 Tran Am a while back and the gut had put in a cc503 cam, Trick Flow push rods, and PRW roller tip rockers. He didn't say whether or not he put aftermarket lifters in the car. So i dont know what preload i need to put on the rocker arms. Can you look down through the head and be able to tell if they are stock or not? Does anyone have any ideas on how to approach this? Im new to lt1's so any help would be greatly appriciated.

You won't be able to tell what they are with it all together. 1/4-1/2 turn preload ought to be ok for most.

1/4 to 1/2 should be ok on stock lifters, aftermarket ones should handle more. Best bet would be to yank the intake and check the lifters if they concern you. Otherwise, do a 1/4 turn or so, go drive it around, it it feels dead up top or makes a lot of noise add a bit more.

Thanks for the input, that's what i was thinking. I'll start with a 1/4 turn button everything back up and if they are not real loud I'll run that.
