Hey guys right now I'm looking at a ZEX 75,100,125 setup. It is the full throttle style. I don't know a whole lot about nitrous but I'm getting a deal so I want this. I dont have a parts number yet but shouldn't it work on my LT1?? Should I spray more than 75 on stock internals??? I hear you guys with LS1's praying 125 on your aluminum blocks...I'd be stoked to be able to spray 100 on my iron block.

Also how good are the Zex wet kits?

You need a way to pull timing if you want to run alot of spray on the stock bottom end and not blow it up IMO.

I'll be spraying 200 on my stock bottom end, but I'm also going to have a timing controller.

I wouldn't even have 400 to the wheels with the nitrous still, what do you mean about the timing?

Timing is when the spark actually fires in relation to the piston. I'll explain it all later in another, tech-specific thread if you want.

Or you can go buy some books. ChrisR, which books do you always recommend?

You should be fine with a 100 shot on stock internals

I know what you mean, new spark plugs are a must. Zex actually sells some that they recommend with their systems but I don't know how good they are. I know I have a LOT of research to do. I found this kit for a really good deal and I will most likely buy it. As far as I know so far I need bigger injectors and better spark plugs. I'm taking it one step at a time though, thanks for the info guys.

If you are using a wet kit you DO NOT NEED INJECTORS... and "better" spark plugs isn't good word choice, you need one step COLDER plugs. YOu just put in colder plugs, and jet your system right.

If you run a dry system, you only have to run nitrous lines and depending on the shot, you will need injectors and possibly fuel pump (and the colder plugs of course). What is nice about a dry shot is your computer will automaticly pull timing and add the extra fuel (no jetting for fuel!). But then you are relying on the computer to add the right amount of fuel.

One more thing, you going to want to gap your plug somewhere in the .035 to .040 area...

Okay, that was bugging the hell out of me. Nitrous is N2O, not NO2.

I know, I just realized that now when I looked at the thread again! Haha.:poke:

(I was hoping that would slide somehow.)

I am not that high on the Zex kit. IIRC my friend Tim ran a ZEX kit and it had interesting results. He ran a "75" shot and the car did, w/ bolt ons and just the nitrous, 480 hp at 4500 RPM. Dunno what the 75 was supposed to stand for, but that sure wasn't a 75 shot. Maybe a 175 shot. They are quirky... at least from what I have seen. I would rather run a NX, TNT, or NOS kit before going w/ ZEX.

Well I'll be the guinnea pig for the bunch here it looks like. :)

good, let us know how it all hold up and about the results,i was thinking about doing a nitrous system as well but i was only planing on a real small spray like 50,its my dailydriver and im still paying for it,the purge kit is what actualy turned me on to doing it

On my 96 TA I used a Nitrous Works wet plate system and sprayed 125 all day long! I believe the formula was for every 50 hp lower timing 2 degrees and go one step colder on the plug like a TR6 NGK. Also never run a platinum plug with a power adder! With a wet kit you do no not need injectors. 100 unleaded never hurt or a octane booster what ever you have available.

Also if you have a after market mass air flow sensor or chip of any kind take them off!!! These items will usually advance your timing to make more power NA however with nitrous it is a different story.
