Hello all,
We just wanted to let everyone know how the build on my personal STS car is going. So far we have the shortblock together and are getting close to having the heads finished, so it is moving along! I can't wait to drive this thing!!
Here is the link to the build page: I will be updating it every couple of days.

Too many customer cars! LOL I have not been able to find time to finish the heads, thats the last remaining engine part to finish. I am hoping to have it done in the next month, when I get some more pics I will post them!

Too many customer cars!
I'd say that's a good problem to have!

What ended up happening with the 500+ci build?

I was just looking at the pics of the heads; I have never seen exhaust ports opened up that much before!
Did you just measure the diameter of the primaries on the headers and used that as a template?

Yes, Based on some other turbo work we have done recently I decided to try this. I figure if the other car responded well to almost 90% intake to exhaust ratio then I will try to get there on these. It REALLY helped the spool time on the other car.

Wow, I am impressed, SO many FI guys dont realize the importance of the I/E ratio and FI. Many dwell on cam selection and dont have a clue about their I/E.

Well I talked directly with Detroit Locker and they said it would be good for over 1K RWHP so I hopefully dont have to buy another one!

When I called they told me that my slightly-above-400rwhp launches would separate the case...
If you do break it, I want to see the carnage!

The unit I have is a MASSIVE steel piece, you may have been talking about the aluminum version of the case, I have seen those. I doubt it will break, but anythings possible with this much power!

I was looking at one for a 9" with 31 spline axles...
I just want to see some carnage. I figure there's plenty to go around with 1000rwhp :D

so what did those heads flow. those are some big ass ports on there

Well, I have been trying to make some time to work on them, so far they are flowing 320 on the intake and they are still very rough, as for the exhaust I am seeing 265CFM and they are not completely finished. I am confident I will get 270's from them which will net me a really good Exhaust to Intake ratio and help spool the turbo very quickly.
