93-95 3.4 Oil pressure?

What does everybody's oil pressure usually stay at when at operating temperatures and idling? Mine dips about the red mark and if i've been unleashing the one wheel fury the check gauges light does come on. I'm hoping that its mostly contributed to 3 things. 1. The oil is past due on the oil change according to the window sticker. 2. Maybe the oil pressure sending unit like the LTx's 3. The 1/2 can of sea-foam that I dumped into the motor to help clean it out. The motor does have 181K on it, but it sits and purrs like a champ!

The sender is easy to get too IIRC on the 60^ engines. I'd throw a gauge on it and check just too make sure. Don't know the specs off hand though

Very easy indeed, I'm probably going to change it anyway while I already have the drain pan underneath the car to change the oil. Might as well, but I have about 65 more miles of illegal driving w/ no tags or insurance to do till I can change the oil :lol:

I would put a temp gauge on it to be sure the oem unit is reading right. I thought I read somewhere that the 3.4 had a oiling issue? not sure but a thought.

Well folks, I have FINALLY laid this one to rest. I finally got her on the road last week and racked up the rest of the 100 miles on the car before the oil change with the sea foam. I put some 15w-40 in her (Diesel Synthetic oil) which is what we run in all of our DD cars. The pressure only got slightly better, so i called up my local Carquest and ordered a oil pressure sending unit, installed it tonight and bam.. 60 psi cold idle, and 20-25 warm idle :)

I tell you this 3.4 is one of the best running motors i've seen in a long time. It idles just as smooth starts good..just doesn't have much power :(
