i have a 94 firebird and i am wondering ifthere is a way to save my a4, i have heard of lots of diff people who blow up these trannys, some ppl more than once. what is the best way to save the tranny? i run royal purple auto tranny fluid and am thinking on a tranny cooler, would this help..? thanks

yes there is...... dont race it...
thats about it....
unless you plan on getting it BUILT, then understand the stock 4l60 is not made for racing...

The less abuse you throw at it, the longer it will last.

If you feel that you want to do something to help it last a tad longer, a tranny cooler won't hurt.
Number one killer of transmissions is heat. Get's too hot, friction loss, clutch packs disinegrate which equals a rebuilt tranny.
