Should I get my 9" installed with my 4.10's or keep the 4.71's for fun til the spring

:dontknow: My rearend is loaded with 4.71 gears currently and I have a set of Richmond 4.10's for the spray that are definitely going in. The question is, should I get the rear end installed with the 471's just to have a little fun with until I go racing in the spring? Or just get the 4.10's installed and sell the 4.71s?

4.71's? Jesus man. You'll run waaaaaaay out of gear if you leave them in there especially on spray.

Assuming you run a normal sized (ie. short) tire on the street, you'll be able to go 107mph in 4th @ 6500rpm. I guess it depends on what kind of street driving you are doing. Unless you are racing on the street with a modified car (ie. trap higher than that NA), you won't really run out of gear...

The beauty of a 6spd is that you could still cruise at under 2000rpm @ 65mph with the 4.71s.:cool:

I assumed we wasn't juicing it yet given his first post. But if he is running a taller tire, he'll have 115mph to play with.


(Although I figured most LS1 guys only ran the tall tires at the track).

Yeah, I know that it's too much gear to run on spray, that's why I have the 4.10's. I just thought that it would be fun blasting out of tollbooths with the 4.71's NA until I put the .10's in. :)
