I think it'd be copying a bit too much. LS1tech is the only site I know of that has "second" clubs.

Along these lines...

Chris, do you want me to start working on a database for timeslips?

I'd be glad to work on it on my spare time, and I'd hopefully have a fully functional demo model ready in a week or so (access based, and working on it a little in the evening, mostly on Saturdays)

Sure but I'm not sure how to put an Access db online....

Vbulletin had a timeslips DB for 3.0, eventually somebody will make one for 3.5 and then I'll install it.

Like just for the sake of a title, someone lie about their slips.

That would be so lame. :poke:

ya...but i mean let people lie...if someone says they have a 9 second car and have no idea how they got there or wat mods they have...they look dumb...

On tech you have to provide a timeslip to get the title.

I'm working on adding a timeslips database. The "hack" for it is in beta right now and as soon as the final release is made I'll install it here.

ok, well, why not maybe do a MPH club? i hope to be running mid 11s @ mid 120s on the juice....so instead of 11 sec club...why not say '125mph club' or something.

just a thought.

We can create publicly joinable groups...it wouldn't be very well policed but could be fun. Lets experiment with it...

Try it guys. I created a usergroup called "12 second club".

Its public, so anybody can join it. Its the same permissions as the regular users, nothing special, just a title change.

Just go into your USER CP, select Group Memberships near the bottom left, and then pic. You can always unjoin and if you're a mod it will not override your moderator status.

ok, well i switched my status to 12 second club just to check it out.

and now my name is blue, and is it supposed to say '12 second club' under my name?

I checked you in the admin screen and you're still a moderator, so it didn't take that away. I think the 12 sec club title can't override your custom title. So go in and revert to the standard user title then see if it says 12 sec club.

We could use this as a way, in the future, to have forums for 12 sec and 11 sec, etc.

yea, i messed around for a sec and it didnt take away my privledges.

ill start a thread in the mod lounge about this, since its more of a administrative issue
