hey guys. need help with rim/tire selection. 2 part question. right now im lookin on ebay and found a business selling a set of 4 rims and tires mounted and balanced. the specs are 17x9.5 front 17x11 rear. backspacing is 7" front 7.75" rear. tire sizes are 275/40ZR17 front and 315/35ZR17 rear. here are my questions...
1) will this set up fit on my car? it says its for camaro/firebird 93 and up. so i know it will 'fit' but what will i have to do to my car to get the rear so it doesnt rub? anyone running these rim/tire sizes?
2) the brand of tire that comes with it is sumitomo. really havent heard too much about this company. are they any good? does anyone use them?
i know a lot of people out there use brands like kumho and nitto and bfg. just curious if anyone uses this brand or not.
any oppinions/help is very much appreciated.

sumitomos are decent, not great tires, but awsome for their price,
and the guy i knew with the 95 had ZR1 rims, i dont know what the backspacing and other sizes were but they were 315s and he had to hammer on the inner fender wall a bit, more on the passenger side than the driver

Yup, I believe you can get 285's, but 315's will be a bit too close for comfort (i.e. rub)

i dont have any pictures of his, but i can say from behind his tires made my buddys Z28 with 245s look like he was driving on spares
i really liked how big they were, kinda made me mad that i bought 275 SS rims but oh well, but they will rub with out without pounding the fender in, what he told me that he did was take a rubber mallet and pound away

You guys think 315s out back looks good. You should see them all the way around. Ill try and get pics.
Oh and about the birds being able to fit more tire, ive heard that too. It was about the fronts though. Apparently the birds fit the 315s up front without any huge amount of modification and its apparently a pain in the ass, unless you get a different front end.

ouch. i dont think i wanna start hacking my car. but maybe gently hammering the shit out of it will do. 315 is plenty wide enough.
