I saw a youtube video by edmunds today that showed the new SS only doing the 1/4th in 13 flat...I expected it to be waaay faster.

Then again, it looked like they had the traction control on? :twak:

Did you see what it trapped?

The trap speed indicated a low 12 sec pass easy. I bet the dogged it at the end so the vette looks better.

the v6 keep't right with it on the 1/4 mile huh. Cant find the video for it. if anyone finds it post it up

Its a very heavy car but remember edmunds.com isn't exactly known for hotshoe drivers. I'm sure they'll get the car down into the 12s with better drivers.

Also remember this wasn't supposed to be the be-all end-all Camaro. The Z28 is/was going to have the CTSv's supercharged LSA motor but the Z has been put on hold.

It doesn't matter....with over 400 HP it just just plain inexcusable to run anything more than a 12.5....why the hell did they make it so heavy?

They spun the sh*t of of those tires too in the video...some DRs and driver I bet you would see some 12s

That's weird, that the Z28 would be more powerful than the SS. I don't why they don't just put LT1s in these bad boys.

I never knew that, I always though like Z28=Formula, just a cheap way to get V8 and then SS=Trans Am, cream of the crop in both performance and exterior. 4th gen Z28s didn't have anything over the SS performance wise did they?

Nope, SS>Z28 in recent history, he means "back in the day" the Z28>SS.

Yea, its kinda wierd considering GM suspended the SS division, but they will still have an SS Camaro, but no Z28...

I heard they were planning on the supercharged engine(LS9?) in the Z28, that just get delayed or completely scrapped?

Last I heard it was delayed but with no planned date to delay it to...so it will prob end up cancelled.

With the gov't bailing them out like crazy, they can't be seen releasing even more high performance gas guzzlers...

Though a Z28 would be pretty sweet

I wouldn't describe the SS as an economy model in any way, though it does carry about the same EPA numbers as my WS6. I would've thought they would make a few more models available - sell all you can right? They are missing an icon that line up in the Z. I don't get it either. I do like the GMPP LS7 prototype :devil:
