I like it. I would prefer something more like 18's on it though.

Every manufacutrer puts huge wheels on the show cars. It's most likey going to have 17's with an 18" option I'd say.

Wonder how close the actual production model will resemble the proto-type?
i.e. wheels
Any specs for drivetrain or powerplant yet?

The concept is 6L Ls2 400hp and T56, but that could change for production
Don't expect 21/22 inch wheels either, probably 17s and then optional 18s.
The exhaust pipe location would change too as that's too high to be legal, but other than that I expect the production car to look very similar.

I loved the car through and through.
THe car is pretty retro w/o being full out retro. Rather than picking one car and copying it literally (Challenger?) They did a predominantly 1st gen design and added flavors from all the previous generations while still adding in some new shapes.
I love the interior except for the console gauges. Don't like taking my eyes off the road to look down at those.
The side profile is dead sexy and the external dimensions are dead on.
Only complaint I have is THEY AREN'T BUILDING THEM YET.

SO what's with the trunk? Is it GTO sized? That rear pic makes it look really tiny.

I couldn't get close enough to the car to see about the trunk. Once Lutz got out of the car and finished his little interview, the media bum rushed the car and I had to fight a sea of humanity just to get the interior pics.
Was really frustrated I didn't have time to wait it out to get more full on shots. But we were really time limited, the passes GM negotiated for us were only good until 11:30. NAIAS apparently didn't want us mulling around all day there.
But who cares if the trunk is big or not, you planning on hauling mulch in yours? As long as it fits enough bags for a weekend trip I'm happy.

Well if it makes you feel better, it would have been even worse had you been there when the general public is there. Every year I went I took a camera and never took 1 pic cause of the sea of people.
Although would have still been cool if GM could have met with the enthusiasts for a little while before or after. I mean your opinions have more merit the Bob Nobody at USAToday.

Just remember, Vette's will always reign supreme on HP.......so, depending on how the Vette's evolve, will dictate the HP availability in SS and Z's.
Should be interesting, but from what I recently just read, 2006 WILL NOT be a production year for this concept car.
A couple guys from FAOA went to the Monday night pre-show, and that is what they claimed:
Tonight, Chevrolet hosted a reception for their 250 enthusiast guests at the GM Heritage Center. It's a private facility GM uses to host events they hold.
Wow, what can I say. A warehouse full of GM Automotive history. I was speechless. Scott and I walked through together and maybe saw about half of the vehicles. It was just one after another of jaw dropping cars.
Regarding the concept.... many of the GM design, engineering, and marketing folks were there..... pretty much the entire concept team.
Bottom line, Chevy is not committing to production officially at this point.
It was clear in my opinion this car is going into production. They simply have too many resources invested in it already.
Global RWD architecturre is going to be engineered in Australia by a team of both GM and Holden engineers. Several of the Aussies were at the reception this evening too. I spoke to the head of the team, who is about to move to Australia to lead the effort. Young guy, and definietly a gearhead. I apologize for not recalling his name. Seeing how well the 7 year old Holden Monaro (GTO) platform is.... I can only imagine what they'll do with this next platform.
Pretty much the entire team is young, and I can say from the handful of them I spoke with... they've got a really good, enthusiastic group assembled.

The trunk and the headroom. It looks like that guy can barely get in it. The windows lookvery small I hope all of that is changed before the real ones comes out.

I agree, the rear end seams to be missing something and that spoiler just doesn’t cut it. Other then that I have a hard time not drooling. It's going to own the Challenger.
