Question about 6spds and the skip-shift

hey guys, i was wondering what the skip shift is in a 6spd tranny, when does it apply. and what does it do,, stuff like that,, thanks for the help.

Skip-shift is a condition in the computer that, if met, electro-mechanically forces your 1-2 shift into a 1-4 shift. You skip 2 and 3. I believe it's like 20-25% TPS and below 3000 rpm, or something like that. It's only annoying for light throttle stop-light to stop-light driving. There's little plug-in things you can get to disable it, or you can disable it through tuning.

Bought a skip=shift eliminator and put it in. . . think either the resistor blew or I got taken. . .
Do those kits work? typically 25 bucks or less?

Mine cost 40 from Summit with shipping .. ive never had a problem .. never even seen the light since install .. (oh yes i used the Hurst SSE)

Some short out when they get wet. The easiest thing is to get it disabled thru tuning.

I've had my 02 WS6 3 years. I've only used the skip shift or been forced to shift about less than 50 times in my daily driver. Just put your foot in it at every light and don't worry about gas mileage and you won't really ever be annoyed with the skip shift given it's overriden at about 1/3 throttle.

i hate that thing. on the SS, i set it to engage at 1 and disengage at 2mph, also between 6k and 6001rpm

That's the same one I bought, but my light still comes on, not a big deal it still let's me shift from 1st to 2nd.
