No difference between a 94 & 95. No difference between a 93 - 97.

Stage 3 Part # SC423 Straight from Spec's website.

I've heard numerous times that the Stage 3 is to harsh for the street. I have the Stage 3+ and its awesome, it has more handling capability than a stage 4 but drives like a stage 2.

No different than any other clutch. Bolt up the flywheel and sandwhich the clutch between the pressure plate and flywheel. Leave the bolts to the pressure plate semi loose and align the clutch up as perfect as possible w/ the alignment tools then snug the bolts a bit. Leave the bolts loose enough so you can move the clutch betwen the PP & FW with your fingers and finish centering it up with your finger tips, then torque the bolts down in a criss cross pattern and your set to go. Just don't forget to pull out the alignment tool :)

We tried that, what holds the throwout bearing in place on the pressure plate?

There is this round piece of wire that fits inside the tongs of the pressure plate and holds the throw out bearing in place.

Thats what we thought, the person we bought it from said he had trouble installing it as well..but he said it worked without it..he put only 50 miles on it,then decided to part out the car...i paid 300.00,was this a good deal?

If everything is up to par 300 is a real good deal.

Can you confirm if this clutch was suppose to come with the wire you are making reference to?this guy claims it worked, that the bearing is held by the shift fork.I tried finding a picture of the kit but no luck..or maybe instructions, with pics?thanks,,

The red arrows are pointing to the round clip
The yellow arrows are what hold the clip & throwout bearing in place
and last but not least, the funky green arrow is of course the throw out bearing.

All clutches are like it, every one i've seen for a LTx has that clip holding the throw out bearing in. Its been quite prob a year and a half since I put a throw out bearing in but i believe the yellow highlighted clips are attatched to the throw out bearing, you have to put the throw out bearing in from the flywheel side of the pressure plate and then compress the clip like a giant C-clip and fasten it to the inside of the hooks of the yellow highlighted hooks and it holds the throw out bearing right in place.

Not a problem! :LS1LT1flag:

Whichever way its configured, that giant wire C clip is supposed to be there to hold the throw out bearing steady. I can't remember what those little hooks that are highlighted w/ the yellow arrows are connected to. I now think they are built onto the tines of the pressure plate.

But trust me, it does hold the throw out bearing in place, I guess its not 100% necessary, but i'm sure it makes everything a lot easier when it comes to time to install the tranny/motor so the input shaft doesn't have a problem getting through the bearing since it'll be centered. The fork latches onto the throw out bearing pulling the tines on the pressure plate away from the clutch. Its still a good idea to have it.
