ok my clutch is just starting to slip a little after i get on it really hard. so... figure it is time to start looking into options. my sig shows what few mods i have. mostly stock. my question is weather i should go dual friction or not. i have a guy here local that is really good at doing rebuilds. have used him for years. he can set me up with the clutch and plate for just over $250, no i can not get that deal for you. lol but should i get it for me?

uhh if u can get a performance clutch for $250 what the hell is stopping you? lol. im in the same boat right now shopping for clutches and OEM replacements are about that much. go for it especially if u plan to keep modifying it

well i used one for less than 1000 miles ... it died - so if you have a decently powerful
(450hp) engine it may not be the best route.
He'll be lucky if he has 250 rwhp
Go for it!

ouch chris. don't make fun of my poor lil girl. she is just starting to get the love she needs. i only want around 300 rwh when i am done with her anyway. i got to drive her to work everyday.
Nah man, i'm not making fun. We all have to start somewhere. The base numbers for a Z28/TA are around 232 rwhp. So figure maybe 10 for the CAI, and 10 for the flowmaster and !CAT so I just honestly figured 250 rwhp.
You can easily obtain 300 rwhp and still enjoy the everyday driveablity of it.

headers and an ORY should get u some of the way there that would probably be the next step. some more bolt ons u could choose from would be a new intake and throttle body, underdrive pulleys, and anything else that would free up a little hp (manual steering, electric water pump...etc)
Electric water pump, 52 mm TB, Headers & ORY w/ a cutout and you should be knocking if not there. A cutout will do at least 5 rwhp on a flowmazzer.

i wouldve thought that it would take more than that to hit 300 hp at the wheels. is that really all?
The faster you get air in and out of a motor the more hp it'll produce. A CAI may only produce 10 hp but when you add headers and free flowing exhaust and other mods the hp becomes greater if you were to take it off and dyno it with a stocker.
