Hi guys,I'm new to posting but I've been using your discussions to troubleshoot my 96 Ws6 Lt1 Trans Am. Its got a bad bog off idle or when accelerating from low RPM's. Have replaced Fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator(with holley adj) blocked off EGR ,bypassed water in throttle body, and installed 160 thermostat,Thats where I'm at,car runs pretty good just going thru the gears but boggs at low rpm and now it lays down if you drive it hard. Any thought,Opti Spark?? Car has 74,000 mi, Still has original plugs and wires, Does not really feel like its missing????

Always try your simplest thing first, the fuel filter. If it isn't the fuel filter, I'd say plugs personally. When wires are shot they mostly cause break ups and serious misfires. Plugs can start going bad but still work, but just not 100% up to par. You honestly should do the wires when you do the plugs as well.

You could look for an intake leak, if that egr plate is not tight that could be the spot, take some starting fluid and spray around the intake gently while its running, if it revs up you have a leak there. Also make sure your throttle cable is on correct.
