I have a 94 Formula and the headlights both come up fine. When I turn them off though, the driver side is fine, but the passenger side goes down and then starts grinding like the light is still trying to go down more. Also the manual raise/lower knob on that light feels like it is stripped out or something. It turns really easily and doesn't do anything.
Also right when this problem started happening, the lights raise up when I only turn on the side marker lights. They don't turn on, they just come up for some reason. It never did that before.

i have a friend that had a 94 formula that was doing the same thing, we never found out why, but i would say it has something to do with the headlight motors, maybe there is a contact or something in there, i would say replace that motor since it sounds like it needs replacing and go from there
Do a search on here for the FAQ section and it should link you to Brent Frankers F-body Headlight fix...or just google that. Your nylon gear has been stripped due to your metal worm gear.

I read Brent Franker's headlight fix and that is exactly the problem I am having, but it says I have to manually raise the headlight to do all this. The manual raise/lower knob is stripped out on my car and it doesn't do anything. Could I just raise it by turning on the lights and then disconnect the electrical connector to the motor so I can turn the lights off?

i have done the medal gear swap on my 95. the only reason it tells you to raise your lights is so you can get at the motor mounting bolts easier. it doesn't really matter how you get them up.
also my headlights still pop up when i turn on only my parking lights. what's causing this?
