What up guys im new.I have a 1995 impala was suckered into buying
some stuff at lopers performace shop was told i would get 450 hp
but im sure it not even close and seggestion on what else i can do to
wake up what iv already done .I was thinking of 373 rear end,
bigger fuel fuel pump and 2500 stall converter if needed
but any sueggestions would be nice
so what i do have is
fresh rebuilt lt1 longblock
stock crank
stock lifter/springs/rods
cam is compcam 07-501-8 http://competitioncams.carshopinc.co...14003/07-501-8 (http://competitioncams.carshopinc.com/product_info.php/products_id/14003/07-501-8)
edelbrock 7101 air gap

bbk 58mm throttle body
hooker headers
dual 40 series flowmasters
2.5inch pipe catback
42lbs fuel injectors
ported 3inch mass air flow
power programmer was used
msd 9mm wires
acdelco platinum plugs
new cap/rotor
cold air intake
heads ported to intake
do i need a better fuel pump are my injectors robbin what psi
can be produce before the next injector sprays ?
any one have any problems like this???

1. Stockish heads :dontknow:......you got stockish heads (just ported to intake)?!?!? That's gonna kill hopes of 450HP right there :( !
2. Stock valve springs? Those things will keel over and die before you hit 6000 RPMs.
3. CC 501 cam is a bit mild. Even with good heads, you'll only get 375 HP (at the crank) at best.
4. 42LB injectors? Why? They don't make HP. You would've been better served by some 30LB injectors.
5. Power Programmer? Hypertech?
6. Edelbrock Airgap is an unproven item......if your goal is to bring about increased power.
Man.....those bastids f'ed you over  ! All of the above are mistakes that were made..... I'd peg you power output at 350HP/375TQ at the crank.....based off other Impalas I'm familiar with that are similarly modded.
7. No.....you do not yet need a hi-flo fuel pump.
8. Yes......you can make very good use of some 3.73 gears.
9. TC.....I suggest a Yank 2600 to 2800 stall.
Best of luck!!

lets see... you went to a bigger cam, and you have the stock gear and stall? Been there, done that. my 96 caprice has the gmpp 845 cam, which is 214*/222*. not to far from your 501 which is 212*/218*. the car pulls strong from 3000-6000 rpm, but under that it is rather weak. I just put 4.10's in it, and it woke the car up off the line. The trans lost 3rd and 4th before I got the car. I have a rebuilt trans waiting to go in, and a 3200 Edge Stall will go in with it. I wouldn't think about going with less than a 2600 stall. and if I did put a stall in, I would be using a quality brand, like a YANK, Vigilate, Or Edge. It doesn't pay off to cheap out on your Torque Converter.
Stock Valvesprings.... If I could, I would smack you. the stock valvespring s will start to float the valves at 4000 rpm, with the STOCK cam. I bet you valves are floating by 3500 rpms.
Hypertech is over priced garbage even for a stock camed motor. with a cam like that, you NEED to have a custom mail order tune, atleast. Unless you don't care about how it runs, and drives... maybe that is why they used such big injectors? so they didn't have to get a real tune? like from Madz28.com, PCMforless, etc...
Ported 3" MAF. why screw around with a stock MAF, when you can get a Stock 3.5" unit from a firebird/camaro? and since the MAF was calibrated for that size, the signal it sends SHOULD be closer to what it needs.
58mm TB, hope they tuned the PCM for this. Most important is to make sure the Trans line pressure was increased across the board, or a trans go shift kit, or some way to increase the line pressure so that the trans does not burn up. at 50% throttle with the 58mm TB, it's like 75% throttle with the 48mm TB. you let in 50% more air at a given Throttle %. think about it. :)
those injectors are over kill... there were some stock eliminator guys who were saying that the cars always ran better when they had JUST enough injector. meaning at WOT, and Redline, the injectors were about maxed out. But bigger injectors give you room to grow. but 42's are huge...
I would suggest a walbro 255 lph fuel pump, and a racetronix harness just to make sure it doesn't go lean. the stock pump is likely very tired.
Get those platnuim plugs outta there. Platnuim plugs, and big power don't seam to be a good mix. and if they are the double platinums, the platinum puck has been known to crack, and break off. which defeats the porpose of platium, which is to reduce the gap increase from wear. once you start really making power, copper seams to work better.
for the intake, you just paid $450 for a new intake manifold, that has yet to prove it can make more power over a stock intake manifold. :D
I also can't say I am a fan of the hooker headers. What do they call them? Cooker headers? ;) For $500 that they cost, you can get a decent set of Longtubes(ones On my car are $325 new, & coated), or Mid-length headers(I had a set of them, but they didn't fit my roadmaster. cost was about $500 for them coated, and with options). The stock cats do flow very well tho. I do think you would benefit from high flows, or no cats.
I also agree with KW, that I would have to think about 350-380hp, at the crank. about 300hp at the wheels. stock is 215 hp to the wheels.
They really bent you over, and told you to take it. Ouch... I hope they atleast used alot of KY! :P
All Harassin ya aside, it sucks that happened. Some shops have no F-cking clue what they are doing, and have stock in the marketing BS that gets flung around like monkey poo. But you know better now, right?
There is another forum around here that has almost all the Impala SS info you could ever want...

Power is all in the heads and cam, and making sure everything works harmoniously together. To throw a bunch of stuff together HOPING it makes 450 HP is sketchy at best.I think you are are making as much power as you possibly CAN BE with those parts. Heads should have been ported real good, matched to a proper cam, and supporting mods, and a proper tune, not that hypertech crap- which does nothing. You probably could have paid about half, and had more power, much more, by having it done right. I would complain if I were you
