I drove my parents '85 S10 Blazer for about 6 months, but the first car that was mine was a '70 Camaro. Bought it with a blown motor and saginaw 3 speed, but it had a 3.73 12-bolt. A junk yard 350 went in, and soon a set of 2.02 camel humps went on. Eventually a budget 355 with the same heads, Comp Cams 280H, Performer intake, 600 vac. sec. carb, and M21 4-speed were added. Actually a bunch of carbs and intakes were used, but I settled on the performent/600 as that is what the car mags were pushing at the time.

engine with single plane torquer intake (http://chuckb.1le.net/archive/past_cars/images/70_camaro_eng.jpg)

It ran low 9's in the 1/8 mile, which while pretty slow, was quick enough to be the fastest car at my small high school and would take out 5L Mustangs of the day (87-88).

I was the same way with cars, I drove a big fat minivan but it was a handmedown from my parents. My V6 was the first car that I paid for.

My first car was a 1980 capri (mustang wanna be). I blew up the stock four banger and we replaced it with a turbo 4 from a 79 mustang. I still miss it from time to time.

When I first met her my wife had a Beretta GT...in HS and college.

I always planned to pull the 2.8 and swap in the 3.4..it would have been a little monster. But alas, it got caught in a hail storm and totaled due to the body damage.

1961 Chevy Biscayne. We called it the biscuit.
Headlights only worked on high beams.
Front passenger side door was held on with a bungee cord.
Turn a corner to hard and the gas gauge needle would fall from one side to the other.
The day I went to go pick it up, a bum was sleeping in it.
Bought it for $125 and sold it for $300 5 weeks later. I was 15. I have lost count as to how many cars I have had since.

1200 OBO. it runs but the carb is iffy. i think the float is sticking cuz it acts like its starved for gas sometimes. it has 94 Z28 seats, new carpet with a spare set, new TQ verter, cragar SS's, ect. i have pictures in my webshots link in my sig.

1988 2.3L Mustang LX hatch. Probably should have kept it and turned it into a big project car. That thing would be FLYING if I put the money into it that I've put into the Trans Am just on the car note over the past few years. :(
