Hi everyone, Just found the site. Looks great. Got a question. I bought an old house with an old shop next door. Anyways its full of old engines, heads, etc. atleast 4 chevy big blocks.
I got the number off of one of the big blocks 3916321 says its a 68 427 385-435 horsepower.
Just curious at what it might be worth? I will try and get the numbers off the rest and let you all know.

thanks

Welcome to the Board.

You need to get the rest of the numbers off the block. The serial number pad numbers would be of interest to a potential buyer. Vette restorers would probably be the most interested (and most willing to spend $'s).

Depends on what cond it is in too, I know that they are getting harder to find, they did come in vettes most chevelles had the 396 big block so if you have one of those you might be looking at some cash if you find a buyer. check ebay and see what they are getting for them, and you might get a good idea.

They also came in Impalas.

Get the casting numbers off the heads as well. Closed chamber oval ports aren't going to be as attractive as rectangular ports.

If it's a higher HP version, it's worth the most to the person who is restoring the car it originally came in. Next is someone building/restoring a period-correct car.
