What are your opinions on MagnaCharger? To be used on an LQ4 swapped into a F-body.

In a F-body you don't have a option.... they don't fit. Only blower option is a centrifigal like a ProCharger or Vortec

You put a 3/4" spacer between the body and the K-member, and you modify the cowl a little, but it will work.

Interesting? Something to keep in mind. Pretty cool though.

He was having issues with knock for the longest time. Turns out that it was the headers not actual knock.

He made a custom intake to mount the blower on an LT1. I'm considering bolting a roots up to an LQ4. Besides the spacers and shaving for clearance, which I've read is really no big deal, the install is pretty simple. I just wanted to know peoples opinions on MagnaCharger. I know people like the ProCharger. Still need to get heads and a cam before I get a blower, and this is long term planning. I just want to learn all that I can so that my build will be successful.

EDIT: I want my car to idle just like that too, if possible while still having a good cam for boost.

I had a MagnaCharger on my wife's little CTS-V and had no problems at all with it. We drove it medium hard for about 50,000 miles before trading it for an Escalade, and plan to MagnaCharge the Escalade too.

One of my good friends has a MagnaCharger on most of his cars and loves them. He wouldn't mind talking to you about the different set ups, I'm sure. His name is Terry and his number is 325-655-4438.

Hope this helps you, Bill.

They sell a magnacharger for the LS engine that will fit under the hood with only a little cutting to the cowl. Not sure if it's ok to post non sponsor links here so if you want teh site PM me.
