I have a 02 SS M6 pushing 356 hp and 369 torque, with just a ported throttle body,K&N filter, descreened/ported MAF, and pacesetter long tube headers with x-pipe and 3 inch duals all the way from the headers and no cats.I want to know how much am I looking for a dyno tune and around how much hp will it gain?

No kiddin, I wanna know too... Hell I did a cam swap and my dyno tune only netted 15 more rwhp than that... And 3 less on the torque. wtf?

How do you know your HP without haveing gone to a Dyno? Those #'s seem awefull high to me, and I would love to see your dyno sheet. Typically with your mods, the Highest I have seen is 340 HP and average around 330-335 HP 345-350 torque range WITH A DYNO TUNE. 315-320 HP WITHOUT a dyno tune.

I have 400 HP and 390 TQ but have a whole hell of a lot more than you got (H&C Package, Fast 90/PTM tb) + a Ford 9" with 4.30 gears that robs even more HP.

Typically a dyno tune will add 5-25 rwhp, and cost $300-500

It just got dyno but not a dyno tune. Also my 02 ss came with slp 345hp center mount exhaust #5878.

It just got dyno pull, and its a 2002 SS SLP #5878 and came with 345 hp center mount exhaust package.

Well mine came with that too. Along with the Bilsteins, the Auburn diff (which is trash now) and the Donaldson Blackwing lid... 'Course when I did my dyno tune, I had the chokemaster on instead of the Hooker thats on it now. Surely the Hooker muffler wouldnt be more resticive than the SLP one would it?

Either you've got more mods than you know, or the dyno you pulled on had the "inflate numbers" feature.

I wish I had the sheet to show all of you, it was dyno on November 10 at Caroilina Auto Masters in Durham NC. Another thing I forgot to mention but I dont think that made me have all that extra hp is it got the fuel and air ratio adjusted.Why would I lie about my hp?

my old mans car put down 389rwhp and 380 tq with lt's, lid, k&n filter, borla cat back. its a 2002 ws6 trans am , the boys at the dyno thought it was a freak for it to put down that much, and it dont have a tune yet, oh ya and a gm ls1 hot cam

Thats what am talking about all cars are not made equally, I dont know why everyone is surprised about my numbers I seen alot of videos on youtube of guys with just bolt-ons like my and getting the same numbers as me or even higher and some do get lower numbers too.

Well theres also the altitude of the place you got it dynoed, and air temp and blah blah blah... Lots of factors affect dyno numbers. I'm sure every dyno is different too... They cant all be exactly the same. If I had a few more supporting mods, like an aftermarket mass air sensor, a ported or aftermarket throttle body, true duals, and maybe a better lid or air filter, my numbers would be substantially higher.

You might have more mods but do you know there is a lot of difference between a 2002 and a 2000 SS. My came with 345 hp stock because of slp options.

Yes there are differences... But im pretty sure he swapped out all the stuff thats different on the two cars. And then some.

Yes I did. No egr or air, Long tubes with off road y-pipe no cats, Borla Adjustable cat back wide open plate, Fast 90 intake, Ptm Throttle body, Slp lid and smooth bellows, Ported PRC stage 1.5 heads (Stock 241 castings that were ported and have 2.02 intake valves), 230/232 604/604 113+1 cam, And custom dyno tune.

I dynoed in Denver at 5400 ft above sea level and through a 35 splined 9" with 4.30 gears and a detroit locker, and a Heavy duty Strange drive shaft, My #'s were 400 RWHP and 390 tq. I will be adding a Cut out and 25% underdrive pulley and re dyno sometime this month.

It still hard to believe he got those #'s with what he says. I have seen 02 Firehawks with the same mods dyno less.

The only modifications to a firehawk or SS for it to have the base 345 package is the donaldson air box and GMPP exhaust. Everything else is the same as a regular TA or Z28 hp wise.

Hmmmm. Hope you boys dont mind my .02 .....

1. 345 hp option is just how GM justifies slapping another 3-4k to the pricetag. It will NOT dyno 345 hp off the showroom floor and I will place $$$ on that with anyone.

2. The dyno number given by the OP are not unexplainable, infact he explained them quiet easily in his sub posts.... Let me explain.

a. The dyno was in NC read low altitude
b. The pull was done in Nov. read cold.

While most shops will only give corrected numbers there are many out there that will only give corrected numbers if they are asked for. So it is easy to get these numbers uncorrected on a -2000 DA day (read dam near every day in november in NC)

As for how much HP you can pick up... Well you only pick up HP if your current tune is off. I happen to have heard a few good things about the tuners at Caroilina Auto Masters , so if there is HP to be found, then those guys should be more then capable of finding them....
And next time ask for corrected numbers. ;)

To Jaberwaki's point, you can see my mod list, all bolt on's on the WS6, here in Longmont CO at 5000 feet elevation. Dyno tuned and I get 287 rwhp, but shows 364 rwhp with correction factor (WCF). Torque 292 and 368 WCF. Huge difference at elevation.

guy i know...just bought a 02 m6 z28....with only a cold air intake, long tubes and a ory dynoed 348...he just put a catback on it....hasnt dynoed it tho
