As i said in my previous letter i have a 85 fire bird. i got it running and have been driving it around and i went to the grocery store today and as i was pulling into the parking lot it died i have no ideal what happened. the coil is getting spark but when i shove something metal into my number on plug and try to turn it over it doesn't juice me. i mean all i get it like a little buzz buzz buzz not like th coil when i throws a strong shock through my body. i tried to change the cap and rotor and it did not do me any good. do you guys think it could be the distributor itself? thanks for all ur help. i would appreciate a quick response because it is stuck in the parking lot and they are threatening to tow it away.. thank you

you can pull the module out and get it tested at a local napa. Seen those cause problems before.

Bad modules often take out the coil and vice versa.

The only other thing in the distributor is the pick-up mechanism. If you can get a spark, then it's probably not the pick-up.

I hate to say to replace more parts and see if that helps, but those are about the only pieces left.

Except the spark plug wires. Have you checked them or replaced them?
