Hello I drive a 1986 Pontiac Parisienne Brougham with a chevy 305. For some reason when i start it every morning it idles very rough and the fast idle takes a few minutes to kick in. Can anyone help me figure this out??

Are you giving the accelerator a tap before trying to start it cold?
Is your choke closing fully before you try to start it?

yeah i always put the gas peddle to the floor and release before i start it otherwise it wont even start at all but for some reason the fast idle takes like 3 minutes to kick on.

You shouldn't have to give it a full to-the-floor pump before you start it. First suspect is your choke is gummy and not fully closing. The fast idle came is a weight that has to flip up with the choke thermostat spring, if gummy the spring won't be able to do its job getting the fast idle engaged and the choke butterfly fully closed.
Also check for vacuum leaks. Degraded hoses is the first culprit. Choke pull-off diaphragm another.
