Ok guys...question?
My first order of business for my build will be replacing the stock fuel pump in my 83' z28 in order to provide the proper amount of fuel for the Lt-1 swap. Any suggestions for brand?model? what to look for? Will it even fit my third gen tank? What else do I have to take into consideration?Gph? do I need to decide on anAfter market regulator now?
Please help.Thanks

I have no idea about fitment and fabrication, but any fuel pump kit for an LT1 with a Walbro 255lph pump will work fine.

P.S. You should have posted this in the LT1 forum.

Walbro 255 is very popular in the 3rd gen community for Gen I, II, and III engines in 3rd gens.

Use the thirdgen walbro. If your car had a carb before, you will need to swap out the entire fuel lines with fuel injection hard lines. The lines that go from the tank all the way up to the engine.

Did you ever end up swapping the 4th gen tank in?

I think I'll have to switch to a 4th gen tank. I have '95 gauges in an '89 w/ an LT1 going in this summer. For the fuel gauge to operate correctly, I figure the 4th gen LT1 tank w/sending unit and fuel pump is needed.

The fill neck just slips off so you can cut it? I just dropped my tank last week and haven't had a chance to play with it since.

im going from carb to lt1- so im going to need new hard lines from tank to bay? i didnt know that, i was planning on just running an in line pump. If i run new hard lines is there an advantage to in tank vs inline? do i even need all new lines?

There's nothing wrong with the stock lines except routing and fittings. You can splice in what you need, for fittings, in-line pump, and routing, if you like.
