When i start my car is stumbles and studders, until i stomp the gas peddal repetedly several times. The whole time the car runs like trash. After stomping the pedal a few times the rpm's will rise on their own, and like magic the car runs like new. Once the car begins to run great i can drive for hours and hours, as long as i never kill the car. Once i kill it i have to go through the same process of it runnin like trash. But once it starts running good i have no problems. I have replaced the opti, replaced coil, TPS, plugs & wires, MAF. Car is a 1994 formula auto. got 122,000 on the odo, any thoughts on the prob would be greatly appreciated.

You might want to have a look at your fuel pressure on start up...

What kind of opti did you put on, and about how long did you put it on?

Idle Air Control, mounted to the bottom of the throttle body. Sometimes they get gunked up show these symptoms.
Just a guess.

Here we can solve this very quickly. Just answer these 2 questions. Does it stumble and studder on start even when warm? Does it smoke alittle on startup? If you say yes to these 2 questions try this. Floor the gas peddal before you start it next time. Just a quick to the floor then let off. If this helps then you my friend have leaky injectors. Oh ya fuel pressure will bleed off real fast to.

As 96slow6 suggested, leaky injectors sound like a good thing to check. Also check the vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator for any sign of fuel or fuel smell. If there is any, replace the regulator.
