I was driving home from my Girlfriends house tonight and the S.E.S light came on... AGAIN.. so i got on it on the highway, still has its power, came home and the exhaust manifolds were glowing...I got 32MPG on the way there and less when I came back ( from going faster and hard acceleration).. Is this normal for a long drive to see these things glowing?? ive never had a car that did this.. Also, the car (as always ) engine temp never goes past the quarter mark ( im guessing thats 195F).. anybody know if this is normal?

Did you ever fix the EGR issues?
Classic sign of a cat clogging up or being clogged

No, I never took care of the EGR...I have a warranty on it so ill exchange it... Now I get to learn how to use a plasma cutter, and a mig welder...Only thing is, Its cold, I really dont want to do this now....ill just use my Girlfriends car till spring.. What a Transition 01' grand prix to a 98' Cavalier Black with a PURPLE Ralley Logo.......:werd::lol:

LOL
When you swap the EGR make sure the ports are clear. Then again make sure its just a bad valve first

Sorry I said it wrong.. I dont have a warr On the EGR.. I have one On the Cat... My S.E.S Light came On AGAIN.. then goes off after a day.. I went to a store and I got 2 test pipes that will take the place of the Annoying Catylist! ( lol, annoying catylist.. that sounds Funny) and that U-bend at the sensor....I will Either return the Annoying catylist for a FULL Refund Or I will Split it open and remove its contents and wrap the shell around the Pipe .....And as far as a O2 Spoof...... Could I get the resistance values of the O2 and Just Go to radioshack and make my own?.. or should I Drill a Hole In the pipe on the side and weld a nut and screw the o2 back in..... Oh wait.. that wont do anything it will always throw a s.e.s with no cat, DUH!...lol...

What do you guys think about the Radioshack spOOooOooooF? :coffee:
i dont have alot of cash right now and if this dont work, Im going to be subject to Driving a cavalier with GIRLY GIRL Stuff on it... And the worst part of it all......HABISCUS SEAT COVERS!!!!!:thumbdown... Nothing can be removed

I've heard of people having good luck with the Radio Shak spoof. I've got a caspers myself that I've had for a few years though.
You can try doing a search on clubgp.com for it you might find which resistor you need

Took the cat out, it wasnt plugged up, i guess it was just defective due to the rear O2 telling the computer its " not working correctly"... I ran a straight pipe from the beginning of the cat all the way to the Resinator ( eliminating the U-bend where the o2 sensor once was)... The exhaust is pretty beefy now,i like it.. But at high rpm in idle I get that popping sound " which I thought was only supposed to happen if you gutted the cat and put it back in ( it would serve like a capacitor would in the exhaust system) according to what i read).. The O2 sensor is Now Non existant. the plug is still there in that little aluminum retainer, and I still have the O2...

Im not too happy with the results, other then the exhaust sounding pretty cool. It feels Like something isnt right with the car, its got power, But not that torque that it had when i got the new cat Installed a month ago ..Is this because the rear O2 sensor isnt installed?.. Because I also read that the rear O2 is Just a Monitor to tell the computer how good of a Job the cat is doing..

If this is a serious problem that will cause damage to my car please let me know..., I cant Find a O2 spoof anywhere, and I want to go with the home made radioshack spoof, but time is really limited now.. Does anyone Know the values, I have a Digital Multimeter ( a pretty good one) But If anyone knows the values or even a bypass procedure please let me know.. my job is getting really busy and having the time to do stuff is getting very limited now, and im kinda afraid that Im going to hurt my car...:LS1LT1flag:

Yeah eliminating the cat will lose some torque but you'll make more top end with the back pressure reduction.
If you're getting a popping sound check for any leaks.
