Sales slowdown hit US Automakers

Looks like the big discount programs paid off. On the surface this looks bad but IMO it just means sales are returning to normal levels after huge spikes due to the employee discount programs.

Also you have to remember with huge incentives you are borrowing demand from the future, so people that might have waited until now to buy bought 2 mos ago. So its expected that sales will drop...but they will go back to normal in an couple of months as demand for '06 models increases.

Last month was the worst month we've had in the 3+ years that I've been here. We sold 26 new Volvo's. Normally a shitty month is 38. Good is 50+.

And what's wierd is that gross profits were way up.
