well after about 36 of the longest days of my life down in New Orleans and Mississippi doing hurricane assistance/disaster relief ops, we finally came home today. i have millions of pics and it was plain horrid down there. mud up to your knees that smelled like sh*t, houses ripped apart, people walking around aimlessly b/c they have nowhere else to go. we were in the French Quarter at first, then we went to St. Bernards Parrish which was supposedly the worst area around. we worked around the clock pretty much, and it was probably the worst thing ive had to do since ive been in the navy. but, we did get a whole lotta beer from the local cops :) anyway, its good to be back, thats for sure.
