GM rear end

I have an 82 pace car , rear is different than 10 bolt , mechanic says its a dana 44, 8.5 ring gear , 3.92 ratio posi, is it anygood or should I change it out, we just changed fluid and cover gasket when we found it not same as 10 bolt. runs fine tho . thanks RON

That is an ass-kickingly good rear end. Leave it in there. Ultra rare. the ring gear is a whole inch bigger...meaning lots stronger.
