I got the airbag and steering wheel off. How do I get the next "air bag" section off so I can take the rest of the column apart? Need to have this done tonight but don't think its gonna happen. My lever has also fallen apart inside but all the pieces look like they're there but if it comes down to it I'll get a different one. Thanks guys!

13 views and still nothing? Don't make me put it all back together and pay someone to fix it so they can joyride it afterwards:eek:

I wish I could help you but I don't have a clue either. Maybe Shbox can help you. He can be found on this site or here.

this helped me out some. http://tss.likeabigdog.com/ But all the work tearing it down to find out the piece where the turn signal switch hooks into was broke off the collar. SO beings I have to pull the column to get the wiring out to take the collar off, I'm just gonna put in a whole different column and keep the other for parts, such as pass key, turn signal cam, etc.

Wow, what a process. Certainly more involved than I would have thought. Glad you found some help and thanks for sharing!!!! :LS1LT1flag:

Not really that big of a deal once you get into it. It does seem slightly different than the 80s columns though once you get into it. They got the wiring packed way tighter than them older ones too so if you gotta replace anything in it you gotta drop the column to take the stupid plastic cover off. That's why I'm not gonna bother with repairing this one. I'm just gonna get another one, slap it in, and save the old one for parts if something does happen, (ahem bad pass key, and that 70 dollar turn signal switch I've hear about). No problem on sharing the info, like sharing other people's wisdom, makes me feel smarter:lol:. Now out to the garage to play with my 115k btu heater I just got:coffee:-it's black, matches my
