I'm tired of sitting on this car.

This a project car that I was in the process of restoring. It was hit last fall by an 18 wheeler and sustained mostly paint damage. Driver's side mirror was broken and a 6" (or so) fender damage which is easily repairable.

Sold my home, so I no longer have anywhere to work on it. It's been in storage since shortly after the accident. Car is definitely drivable, no frame or suspension damage. 700R4 Trans with B&M shift kit; 3.07 gears, Z51 suspension. Car has 6 speaker Pioneer sound system w/ removable face plate AM/FM/CD.

Last year, before the accident, I did the following:

Leather seats replaced
Custom made set covers with "CORVETTE" logo in headrest
Random Tech CAT
Corsa CAT Back exhaust
TPIS Mini-Ram II
KYB Shocks
New High CCA battery. I believe it's a 720 CCA

I have lots of pictures for those who are interested

Here's the damage:

Driver's outside mirror
6" fender damage about driver's side front tire
Driver's side front marker light
Passenger side headlight goes UP but not DOWN -Lights still work
Cracked Paint: Left and Right Front Nose, Passenger side rear, Donuts on Driver's Side Door (from 18 wheeler's tires)
Small crack in side Ground Effects moulding

Car Needs:

New carpeting and door panels
Digital Cluster (TACH and MPH still work) I installed AutoMeter Gauges in the Breadbox for Oil Pressure, Alternator and Coolant Temp (remanufactured DD for $300 on Ebay)
Top Dash Panel (cracked)
Driver's Side Front Wheel (chipped in accident) as cheap as $50
Passenger Side Headlight Repair (UP not DOWN)
A/C Condensor (hole)
ABS Repair (Dash Light "ON") - Ebay
Cruise Control Repair
Scratches in windshield glass - not cracked or chipped.
Front seal on trans leaks

Engine/Driveline:

.030 400 block with off-set ground stock 400 crank,
4 bolt Oliver main caps (center three positions)
5.7" small journal Chevy Rods,
TRW forged pistons,
Clevite bearings,
Speed-Pro rings,
10552 Melling oil pump,
ARP Rod bolts and Main studs,
6 quart GM oil pan,
Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, 2.02/1.60s, w/upgraded springs
52mm Throttle Body
Pro Magnum 1.5/1.6 full roller rockers,
CompCams retro-fit hydraulic roller cam (224/230 @ .050),
Stock distributor,
TPIS Mini-Ram II, with adjustable fuel pressure regulator
26# injectors (should be changed to larger ones since the Mini-Ram install),
TPIS long tube headers,
Random Tech CAT,
Corsa CAT Back,
Cloyes Timing Chain set; Thrust button and Torrington 3 piece bearing
Stock torque converter
3.07 gears
Derale Oil Cooler (installed but not connected) with intergal fan
Gutted AIR pump
MAF Screens removed
K&N air filter
Modified Air Filter Housing
Chrome CHEVROLET valve covers

Engine runs fine" NO smoke, no codes.

Car was my daily driver and, with that engine, has taken me all over the country from Texas to - Denver, UpState NY, SC, Chicago, etc. 23 MPG before the Mini-Ram install which I installed only a few days before the accident.

Car's at 629 Beckley DeSoto, TX at Mike's Paint and Body; car is drivable but license has expired. Car's was in storage for over a year but engine started regularly.

This is a PROJECT car for someone who is interested in restoring it, parting it out, etc.

Asking $3,500, but I'll consider offers just to get this car gone!

I'll post a few pics in my next post.

Anyone interested can email me - jcameron266@sbcglobal.net or PM me.

Thanks,

Jake

Okay, I've got to move this car. So, rather than '"FIRM", I'll consider offers.

Once you figure out the cost of just building a 415 CI, aluminum head, Min-Ram engine, you'll see what a deal this is.

I had to put the car up on Ebay (hope it's okay to say that) after I didn't receive any offers here. Car's GOTTA GO, but like most everyone else, I'd like to get the best price I can.

I'm not trying to recoup ALL the money I put into it, so I tried listing it at a fair price just to get it GONE.

How much rwhp and torque would you estimate it puts down?

My racing days are over so the car/engine was never raced at the track. I went to a 415 so that on those few occasions when I was "jumped-on" while on the Interstate I wouldn't be embarassed. Best I can do is use the rule of thumb of 1.1 to 1.2 HP per cubic inch at the wheels.

Remember, this car was my daily driver so the engine wasn't built to max out or push the envelope. Engine had to be dead-on reliable, otherwise I'd loose my daily transportation and I'd end up having my thumb in the air.

If you want to pump up the high rpm power, an engine that size could easily take a cam two sizes up, something like 236/242 or 242/248 both @ .050 to further push the envelop. Bigger heads (something like 195/210s) would also increase the power output, but keep in mind what my intent was; a dead-on reliable, daily driver capable of being able to take me around the country on 1,000+ mile trips.

It shouldn't be too hard to check some of the engine sites to see what they're getting from a 415 size engine.

Hope this helps.
