spacer with a spool......

Are you suppose to use a ring gear spacer with a spool? The bolts are too long (did have a detroit locker in it) so I ordered shorter bolts and they just look awful short but it was the only choice I had in length.

What axle are you asking about? Sometimes on a Ford 9" you might have to use lock washers cause the spool is thinner that an ordinary diferential.
