Any one out here trying to run a bolt on LT1 and get close to the 3 year old records, edit: M6 record got broke earlier this year but it stood for 3 years...

I am working on a Bolt on LT1 car that is running pretty strong for the little bit of stuff done to it.

I will keep the site up dated on progress....

So far i have only run it in the 1/8th to a 8.111 w/ 1.76 in 2300DA weather. I just brought it in and been working on it for a few months due to other scheduled engagements but it is almost ready to make more passes. I figure I have taken out nearly 200#s from the 8.111 pass and the air is getting better. I did add LT headers during this time so we hope it goes 7.8s the next trip, we'll see.....

What the heck are the records now?? Doesn't SAR2K still hold the overall record with an 11.9@110ish?

SAR2k as far as I know as run a 11.8 in an auto car.
Russ E. had it at 12.3x for a long time and then Roadtrip came in with a 12.2x.

Roadtrip got most of the BOs but it should be interesting, looking at his timeslips, he is making top end power b/c his 1/8th mile times are "slow" in comparison, not meaning he is slow, just saying, his 1/8th is like a 7.8 and I should be there the next trip out and the good air is not upon us in South Carolina Just yet...

what exactly makes it a truly bolt on car?

First I would say Naturally aspirated. Then move on to saying stock heads and stock cam, stock meaning as they came from the factory no porting, polishing, etc. That is a grey area b/c you might could have picked up a car that had the head(s) serviced and a non-stock Valve Job might have been done but luckily there is not a sanctioning body to do tear downs.

Then I would move to say that all the parts that you see in the "magazines" you can bolt on, go for it, so far my car has not needed much of the parts shown.....

I will say that changing valve springs and RRs is a bolt on, of which I have not done yet....

Does that help?

I might add too, it should read bolt on and off......the key is getting the weight off the car.....
