First off the hub is the bearing. It is a one piece deal.
If you can do the stuff yourself it will not cost that much. However if he is really changing both hub bearings, all tie-rods, balls joints and alignment 770$ is pretty cheap.
But if you just need outer tie-rods, bearings, and alignment 770 is to much.
The outer tie-rods are ~40$ each, bearings are 132$ each. The labor for changing that stuff shouldn't make the total 770$ thats for sure.
BUT if the stuff really is bad then hes a decent mechanic for not doing your alignment. It would be a giant waste of your money to align a car with a messed up front end.

You could probably due all that yourself. Bearings are easy, just make sure you pack them good, and I assume he meant tie rod ends which are easy to, the onlything i dont know about is the hub, I havent done those on an F-body but Ive done a few on other cars that werent that hard.

You don't have to repack the bearings on our cars. They are hub assemblies. The bearings are together already. You just have to remove all the brake parts, then you remove the large nut in the center and pull it off the spindle. It is easy. Just make sure you torque the nut down.

Be a good time to do an LS1 brake conversion. Buy LS1 spindles and calipers used (got my complete kit for 200) and then all you need is tie rod ends which autozone has for 20 each.

Which you can rent/borrow from Advance or Autozone. Ball joints are not that big of a deal either.
