Question about LCA bolt kit

I ordered a Lower Control Arm bolt kit from Spohn recently. They arrived last night and I quickly noticed that each of the nuts would only thread down the bolt to almost the height of the nut. Further inspection revealed that each nut was slightly deformed right at the top affecting only the top thread or two. Looking at the top of the nut it appears like they have been squeezed slightly.

Since all 4 are like this it is hard, tho' not impossible, for me to believe that I got a bad set of nuts. (some days are not as lucky for me as others)

My questions are:
Does anyone know if that is normal?
If it is normal, then why are they done like that?
If normal, then when installing do I crank down on them to force the nuts past the bind and then torque to specs?

The only reason I can think of for them being like this would be to aid in keeping them from coming loose.

They are most likely TopLocks. They are designed to work like a Nylon locking nut but they swage the top of them to create the interference fit. They work and torque just like a regular nut as long as you are tightening the nut and not the bolt.

Yeah, after a quick search for TopLocks I see that's what I have.
That's my 'learned something new' lesson for the day.
Thanks for your help.
