Cherry red exhaust manifolds

I have a 94 fleetwood with an lt1 its got a k&n fipk,no cats ,40 series flowmasters, and 3.42 gears. When i beat on the car the exhaust manifolds turn cherry red . Just wondering if anyone can tell me if this is normal for these motors or not.

Sounds like a lean air/fuel ratio.

definatly a lean a/f ratio. Check to make sure the O2 sensor wires are no melted. Then I would replace the MAP sensor.
