What's up guys i have a 95 ss impala and i have two questions, first when i had my local performance shop put my CAI on they left the home plate on and added my K&N CAI. I want to remove the home plate, but there is a hole on the CAI that the home plate fills, what needs do go over that, and where can i purchase it. And my next question is how do i clean my CAI, it's been about a year since it's been on and i want to clean it, could you be very descriptive in the directions please. Thanks alot

Go get a Hockey Puck and put it in the hole. Works like a champ.

Cleaning the K&N filter
1. get a K&N recharger kit (part number 99-5000 I believe)
2. remove filter from car and inspect for damage.
3. spray air filter cleaner (pump bottle) onto both sides of the filter until saturated.
DO NOT let cleaner dry on filter.
4. rinse off filter with cool water (low pressure) until all traces of cleaner is gone.
5. shake gently to remove excess water.
6. allow to dry naturally. (no compressed air or hair dryers)
7. after filter is completely dry, apply air filter oil only to the outside of the filter if its the cone type or the 'dirty' side if its a flat type.
(if using squeeze bottle, squeeze a bead of oil along the crown of each pleat - if its the aerosol spray can, spray an even amount along the crown of each pleat)
8. allow to soak in for 20 minutes and then check to see if there are any light spots.
touch these up if found. There should be an even red color over the entire surface.
9. reinstall filter.

+1 for the hockey puck, I used to do that on my old setup that is now on my friends RMS, now I have the ImpalaSStudio boot with a cone right in front of the TB. I think Trick Flow makes an elbow that replaces the stock one or get an elbow from a Camaro because they don't have that hole.

First time I took of my home base on my old 9C1 I used an Altoids Sours tin until I got a hockey puck. Pretty much anything about 3" that won't melt easy will work.

Get the 95-96 1LE F Car elbow. Its direct fit. No hole (so dump the puck)
Bone yard for sure
