I have the opportunity to buy a almost brand new LS6 motor for a somewhat resonable price. The motor is totally complete, everything is there. My question is how easy, or should I say hard would it be, to put this motor into my 95 Trans Am? And do you think its a reasonable idea to buy this motor or spend my money upgrading my LT1.

its been done before, its not the hardest of swaps IF you are into this kind of thing...

Its not any easier than swapping. Mainly just upgrading shit to work with an ls6 instead of an old age lt. I wouldnt do it but its taste.

You will need these to get this done.
1) F-Body LS1 Headers,better to do these now.
2) LS1 K frame or BMR LS1 K frame.
3)LS1 F Body Oil Pan.
4)LS1 FBody or after market FBody throttle body(Corvette is drive by wire)
5)LS1 T56 tranny,they made no automatic backed LS6 Vettes.
6)LS1 FBody engine accessory bracket.
7) Complete LS1 engine wiring harness.

He would have to change the flywheel to a LS1 Flexplate for the A4,but 4L60E trannies are only rated for 375-385lb ft of torque and would require a Hi-Po rebuild to last under any performance driving conditions.
The LS1 T56 has a different input shaft than the LT1 T56. :poke:

Well I figured on the wiring harness and I thought the oil pan would give me problems too, but I definatly wasn't planning on having tranny problems. That right there makes it seem like a bad idea to the upgrade because thats alot more money than I was expecting to spend. This is probably a stupid question too, and I think I already know the answer but, would my LT1 headers work on the LS6 motor or are they a totally different block design and bolt pattern?

I dont know what the cost is for the LS6. But I vote forced induction instead(be a lot easier). :P

Gen 3and4 have equal spaced cylinders,Gen 2, LT1 has siamesed cylinders(2 and 4) and (3 and5)
You would need new headers.

I have 81K on my car right now. Do you think that I would run into tranny problems down the road, with new heads, cam, gear and such on the trans that I have right now?

A4 or T56? with an A4 yes,a T56 will take a bit more abuse. .
I think the T56 torque rating is 450lb ft.
