Big block el camino

I just recently purchased a 79 g body El camino with a big block transplanted into it. (weird I know) but anyways how do I figure out what block it is? where it came from? where are the casting numbers? Thanks......

The block casting number is located on top of the bellhousing casting behind the driver's side head.

Finding out what it came out of may be more difficult. A partial VIN may be stamped on a pad in front of the passenger side head (the same surface the head mounts to, just sticks out in front of the head a little).

I couldnt find the block numbers but i did come up with a head casting, on the drivers side front of the head it has a 92225 and a G side ways on it. im just trying to figure out what motor it is. There was also a casting number on the AC bracket too It has 3969917gm 11884 on it.I have no clue if any of these numbers matter but any help would be great.

The head casting number is under the valve cover. What you found sounds more like a foundry or date code.

No clue on the bracket, I don't have a reference source for that.
