What's up guys i have some bad news, i am currently in the military
and i have a 95 impala ss with 95,000 miles on it. I have done the
following mods head,cam,cat back exaust,hooker headers,CAI, New
Ported 58mm throttle body,373 gears,eaton posi,MSD ignition, spark
plugs wires. And a tune that never happened along with some heads
that i don't know were ever ported. My question is i took my car
down to a performance shop here in americus ga, called custom
performance thinking that they new what they were doing. So i have
all of this work done, granted it took forever and the customere
service sucked ass. And along with that when i picked up my car the
other day the mirrow was sitting on the seat, he said that it came
off because of the sun. So granted why dident' he atleast crack the
window or just spend 3 dollars and put it back up with the repair
kit. Anyway besides the contined problems with the headers that they
seemed to have, with the pic along with other people with them on
and running successfully they still acted as if they could now get
it right. I have had to delay shipping my car overseas twice for
this reason alone of just getting the job right. I had a little
birdy wisper in my ear that they was not up to par in their work and
that they were screwint around on peoples cars. I found out that my
car was never dyno tuned at all!!!!!!! And that he used some hand
held device and told me that ya we tuned it. So something told me to
send it to brian a PCM for less so that he could do it. I get it
back and he is like yeah that 160 degree thermostatt did wonders for
your car, when in fact it was a tune. So with that aside not only
did i get charged for all the work he did and the tune that he never
did or the dyno that he never did i had to pay for shitty customer
service at that. I have eldelbrock heads and they were supposed to
be ported by the performance shop how can i tell. Anyway i have a
torque converter coming from edge a 3000 stall 9.5 inch. My car will
not even past by that shop again. Thank god that i found out before
i spend another grand with them. I was told that i was being taken
advantage of because i am in the military and currently overseas. No
i don't think it's right and down right WRONG!!!!! But i have left
it up to GOD and i know that it will come back to them in the end.
For now though i need to have my car dynoed at a real shop to find
out what my car is making. If you guys know of a shop close to the
atlanta, macon, or just anywhere in ga area to get a car dynoed and
know what they are doing PLEASE let me know and i want to know if my
heads were really ported. Please give me a good shop to take my car
to so that i can get it right. I have no issues at had now at all.
Thanks

What cam did you have put in it? Also, those edelbrock heads, and hardly better than stocks... you would be better off, to sell them, and have the Stock heads ported by a REAL pro. I mean, a shop that pretty much ONLY deals with LT1's, and LS1's. I'm talking about Advanced Induction. A guy on the Impala SS forum, got his heads (F-body, aluminum Heads), along with a custom cam(doesn't have that crappy ass wide LSA, and puts the valve events where you NEED them)... well, with no special parts, and nothing more than the stuff you have, and a mail order tune, he got his car going 12.0 in good weather! That means he has about 400hp at the wheels, and 500 at the crank!!! thats with a stock short block.

So, with that said. Get on the impala SS forum, and ask for a shop. I bet there is a trusted shop in that area. It may cost you quite a bit more to get the AI heads and cam put on, but trust me, it WILL be worth it. Those heads and cam will SMOKE the edelbrock heads, "ported" or not. and will SMOKE, any "off the shelf" cam.

Best of luck.

ahh you went with the "306"... Bad choice, in my book... that cam is huge. AI= Advanced induction.

Best of luck. :)

you can see about 300 RWHP(290 is common) with all the bolt-ons, on the stock heads and cam. So I would hope your at about 350RWHP. 400 RWHP means your engine needs to be making 500 net hp at the crank. Have to dout that your car is making that kinda power.

Stock was about 215-220 RWHP :)

yeah i think that i am around the 350+ mark also, with my setup, i will definetly find out though when i get to drive it for the first time. I am also going to have it dynoed to when i get home. I am currently stationed overseas. I have only drove the car about 2weeks since i have had it. And i bought the car just abouty a year ago, CAN"T WAIT!!!!!! I can't wait to feel the defference in the power!!!
