anybody ever heard of a camaro having a 20 gallon tank? A buddy of mine does.. I watched him fill up and go 520 miles on a full tank.
All i've heard of in LT1's were 15.3 or 15.8 I can't remember which but i wanna say 15.3 off top of my head.
What year car was this? And what model? I know they changed the tanks in 99 or something to plastic and supposed to be lighter but i don't know about bigger :dontknow:

He might just get exceptional mileage?
Maybe an aftermarket tank?

I ran out of gas (not really, but it died anyway) when the gauge read 1/8 of a tank (I didn't know at the time about the floater in the tank n' such, so I thought I actually had 1/8 of a tank). Well my girlfriend was with me and we had someone bring some gas. They put $2 in a plastic container, so not even a gallon, and then when I went to the gas station to fill up, only 13.3 would go in the tank. So I always have an extra gallon or so in the tank despite the LT1 needing gas. Doesn't make sense...

Do the B4Cs have a larger capacity?
I really doubt this one..it would have been uber expensive to GM for them to offer a second tank size, given all the engineering and packaging changes it would require.
Have you seen him put in 20 gals or have you just seen the 520 miles/tank?

If you fill up more than your tank should allow, that's the gas station ripping you off.
Driving 500 miles is crazy though. I got 400ish on the way to san diego in my slutomatic.

no joke , i was with him when he filled it up, 20 gallons and its more then just one gas station so its not them ripping us off, does anyone have any idea or heard of it, the b4c question is a good one, it would make since for them to have larger tanks

f-bodies are notorious for their gas gauges to be off but for some reason mine was spot on. when mine said 1/8 tank i had 1/8 tank when it was on E it was E. i think we can all agree that consistency of certain things in f-bodies was not high on the General's list when it was getting produced
