Hi everyone, I'm new here to these forums and I was wondering if I can fit a 92 454 engine in a 1994 camaro. If not, then what can I fit into it that's bigger than an LT1? I think I have a cracked head and instead of getting a new or rebuilt lt1 I think im going to try something a little bit bigger.. Opinions please.. thank you ahead of time..

sorry bud 454 is just too darn big and im thinking the sheet metal intake required to crush under the cowl would probably restrict so much air it wouldnt run well ... on second thought .. maybe a tubular sub-frame could help provide more room for a 454 .. but im thinkin this project would kill the bank account ..... as for what to replace with ? id say an LS series engine

drule factor ?? the new LSX engine from GM is suppose to be a Killer 500 cubic inch small black ... there is always the LS2 or the LS3 engine .. both would be killer in early 4rth gen car

I don't know personally, but from what I've gathered hanging around here, neither the BBC or LSx swap is very friendly in 4th gens. I have seen track-only cars with BBC's, though.
I'd suggest stroking your LT1. A bunch of people have had success doing that.

An lsx would fit just fine or a 400 sbc but World products makes small blocks that go up to 454 cub in. but if it was me and i had an lt1 camaro ( i have a 94 T/A) i would just focus on building the lt1 but if you just have to get the lt1 out i would suggest an ls motor the technology of those engines are simply far better then gen 1 or gen 2 and a big block in a 4 gen is not worth the headaches unless you plan on only using it at the track.

The cowl is cut all the way back to the windshield,I just made some brackets out of aluminum to bolt the plastic to. The k-member is a bmr lt1 unit....I just cut the motor mount off since I used plates.
