Ok, my system is full of freon (134a) with no leaks but the compressor won't kick on! If I put power to the wires at the compressor it will come on and blow cold air! Is this simply the Controller valve?
I heard these cars don't have orphis tubes... so I called the parts and they said Have the evaporator, controller valve, expansion valve, dryer, compressor, and condensor. Someone told me it was the controller valve not letting the compressor kick on. Anyone know much about these systems? thanks!

I have had this type symptom on mine. Siimply disconnecting the battery for about 10 minutes got it going. My AC guy told me most likely the pressure sensor had tripped and shutdown the compressor. I have no idea if that is really what happened but if you have not tried a reset give it a shot.

AHHA! I do get lucky now & then.
As far as how long?..... mines been fine so far for almost 3 years.
(guess I will be having my AC rebuilt now that I shot my mouth off)
Glad I could help.

Oh, and if you really are pleased click on the scales and give my rep points a boost. (nothing like a bit of shameless self-promotion)
