I am about to change my filter but I need to run the lines dry. So there will be no pressure in them. On my thirdgen I just pulled the fuel pump fuse and it would die out after idling for a few. However I can't find a fuse for the pump. What do you guys do?

Open the fill cap, and then push the shrader valve on the fuel rail. It doesnt empty the line but it relieses all the pressure. Why specificly do you need to empty the line?

I guess so it doesn't leak on him while taking it off... its a little aggrivating while undoing the plastic thing and having it run down your arm. I tie a shop towel around my wrist real tight :D

I just don't want fuel going all over me.

When I first got my old thirdgen my fuel pump went out. I decided to change the filter first. Needless to say it had pressure in the line...and acted as a siphon. It didn't stop coming out till I got the new filter on. Gas all over you and in your hair SUCKS. Ruined brand new black top too lol.

Your supposed to get gas all over you, that's just how it is.
My buddy vicegripped his fuel line on his mustang when he did it.

Your not changing the filter w/ the key on :D Theres gonna be gas in the lines no matter what, unless the car doesn't hold good fuel pressure. All ya got to do is just release the pressure from the shrader valve and crawl under there w/ two rags tied to your wrists so it doesn't run down your arm. You'll be fine

Changed mine just this past weekend. If you really want to be slick use the bleed valve on most fuel pressure gages to bleed the pressure from the shrader valve.

Although i still did get gas all over my arms.

Oh well.

Yeah...your gonna get gas on your hands no matter what. Unless you pay somebody else to do it
