If you are talking about mine,it's factory height there is nothing in the trunk in those pics and the cars has 275/50/15 bfg drag radials on the back and 235/60/15 bfgs on the front

Ok, it's the 26" tires, and them being so wide in the back. I looked at my 96 Caprice 9c1 yesterday, and it sits a lil lower than that. But there are 3 rims and tires in the trunk, and 4 in the back seat. I'm used to look at mine, which has some 29's in the rear.
I bet mine would look the same in the back with my 275/50/15 drag Radials on it.

I am turning it into a Impala Clone because the TA gets most of my dough...However, I have smooth front and rear bumpers, the spoiler, grill...Put long tube headers on her...full true duals...and eventually it will be dark grey and black two tone with these wheels as well.

I think all the grille needs is the center painted black to match the car, and the outline left chrome.

I might. But I might not. I agree it was looking good, but It was not the look I was after. I think it needs the side chrome put back on, and raised back to 9C1/ towing package ride height with a set of FE2/9C1 springs. Jesus looks better with the 9C1 rims than the SS rims. I just don't care for that in the weeds look. It's supposed to be a sleeper, not an attention getter.

Well My Impala SS Clone was almost about to be complete when I halted the body shop guy from going any further...turns out that the dark blue I wanted from chip book was a chameleon color and we didnt know! So waste of time, money and paint...here is what it looked like...But I am having him re-strip it and painting it the Imperial Blue metallic found on the new camaros.

Nah...the picture gives it a little better justice than actually seeing it the car basically looks purple! I cant be doing that...I don want a big purple dinosaur...I am converting the windows as well to the 94 style and just put true dual and headers on the stock 350. Its been in there for 9 months...I miss it so much!

07-28-2009, 01:40 PM
You mean the 95/96 style? 91-94 quarter windows were triangles.
SteelCityTA
07-28-2009, 01:43 PM
Well 94 was like the 95\96 but they just put a cover piece instead of makinf it part of the qtr. panel... 91-93was a triangle, 94 was a transistion year to what 95 & 96 where. When I say 1994 the was for the Impalas, I would assume that the Caprice stayed with the 93 up until 95 when they were, indeed, all converted.

I see you wasted no time getting that SS grille painted, and on there! Definatly looks GOOD. I also like the lil detailing you did with the underhood. I think I might go that direction with the Jesus RMS, as I'm not about to go as crazy with the billet, and powder coating like Matt did ont he RMS I bought off him, that you saw. Jesus was the sad looking one int he corner of the driveway.
Say, were you looking for a flat LTZ hood badge to replace the Caprice Gun sight? It slipped my mind to ask you about it.
That grille looks better on yours, than it did on my POS... :D It looks funny right now sitting in the driveway with no grille. :)

Mainly could u give me wheel offsets and back spacing as well as size and width. Much appreciated thanks

They are Asanti's 22x9(265/30) and 22x11(315/25).The car is lowered about 1.5" and its does rub just a little on the rear passengers side with people in it.The car does have air shocks to take car of that and the few hundred pounds of audio.

Awesome...were you able to stick with the 5x5 bolt pattern or did you have to get an adapter? Also do you know what the offset and/or back spacing is of the wheels? I also heard that ppl had to roll their fender lip in so teh outside edge didnt rub? Did you have to do that?

Personally... using a set of Airlift 1000's in the rear springs, is a much better way to do it, than air shocks...
If you wanna know what rims will fit, for offsets, and widths, you need to talk to "Firewood". He was working at a rim shop for about 10 years, IIRC, and has a Caprice wagon himself. So he paid close attension to what people needed. I know hw had 20's on his car at one point.
This is Firewood...

A... as in one?? Now that's insulting. I have... *stops typing to count*... 8, thank you very much. I say wind tunnel experiment... Because it looked like they tried... but the 3rd Gen F-body's were actually more aerodynamic. The 91-96 was more aerodynamic, so it was not an experiment.

Welp.... the sickness continues. My first car was an 83 Cadillac DeVille. I just bought it back for $300.

That's cool that you were able to buy back your first car. Most people don't have that opportunity lol. And I think BLK95TA is right about that wheel haha

thats also why i know its a 93. they changed the wheels in 93 and there is a left style wheel and a right style wheel. the 89-92 cars had all the same wheel so they went one way on the drivers side and one way on the other side. since they changed the body style for 94, the 93 is the only one with the older body design and the newer wheels.

I was gonna say... how the hell did you know that dudes car was a 93??
Out of all the cars I have had, and driven over the years. That was the one I missed the most. Lotta good times in that car. :D In High School, guys used to give me crap for driving an old mans car, when most guys had little ricers, BMW's, or high priced import rockets. I loved the reaction I would get from giving a girl a ride. One block down the road: "Wow.... this is a really nice car. These seats are so comfortable. I really like your car." Then my GF in the passengers seat would smack me when I had that "Smirk". :D
I really would love to drop and LT1/4l60E combo in it. In HS, I had dreams of putting a motor from a Corvette in it. Long before I knew what an LT1 was. I should do that. And then leave all the rust on the doors. :D

93 was also the only year with the interior colored steering wheel. mine was red which is super rare. i've also seen blue which is a bit more rare than red, and then silver and black is the most common. I can't tell the interior color of that car though but i'm guessing its black since most of the black cars were black on black.

haha people react the same way to my wagon. I get the "ohhh i love how comfy this seat is" all the time. I don't know if it is Cadillac comfortable but the s seem to like it haha. And I can't tell you how many people underestimate it's power when they rev their engines at me hah. I'd say definitely do the LT1 swap. But make it more than bolt-ons. Maybe a cam as well? It would make a very nice sleeper
